[MYIU] 191221 Fansupport and Spending Report for 2019 IU Tour Concert 'Love, Poem'

12/21/2019

On 21st December 2019, IU held her first ever full-fledged concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. IU Malaysia Fanpage (MYIU) did a concert fansupport in order to create a memorable night for IU and Ku-aenas!

Stage 1: Preparation

On 21st September 2019, IU announced during her 11th debut anniversary fan meeting that she would be having her first ever concert in Malaysia on 21st Dec at Axiata Arena! All of her fans from Malaysia including IU Malaysia Fanpage (MYIU) were overjoyed at her decision and waited patiently for the official announcement by her company, Kakao M.

Since IU Malaysia Fanpage was only active on Facebook, we immediately created a Twitter account and Malaysian Uaena group chat on Telegram to unite more Ku-aenas.

The admins of MYIU then held our first meeting on 28th September to brainstorm ideas and plan for the concert fansupport and events. The main fansupport aspects include welcome gifts, decorations, food support, congratulatory flower stands and surprise concert fanprojects or events for IU and IU Team. We also referred to some wonderful ideas provided by Ku-aenas.

Stage 2: Fundraising Campaign for Concert Fansupport

To fund our concert fansupport and events, we sought help from Ku-aenas and overseas fans by starting a fundraising campaign which lasted for a month. We also gifted the contributors fansupport gifts depending on their donation amount. The gifts include photocards, mini mirror, photostrip, transparent photocard and fan.

We raised a total of RM11,308 by the end of the campaign. MYIU would like to express our deepest gratitude towards all Ku-aenas and overseas fans for your generous contribution.

Stage 3: Fansupport Compilation

1. Welcome gifts for IU and IU Team

  • Welcome Banner At KLIA

A 'Welcome IU to Malaysia' banner was prepared to welcome IU's first arrival at KLIA on Dec 19.

  • Blueming Flower Cake

The cake design was inspired by the lyrics 'do you want to bloom one million roses with me?' from IU's Love poem album title track 'Blueming'. The cake was placed in IU's hotel room with the help of some hotel staff. IU acknowledged our blue rose cake on her Instagram too.

  • Naked IU Cheese Cake
  • A Poetry Book for IU titled '[Dear. IU] Love, MYaenas'

On 5th October 2019, we announced the poetry book as one of welcome gifts we would be presenting to IU. We collected heartfelt poems and messages from Ku-aenas and compiled it into a poetry book. The poems were designed like text messages in gray and blue, inspired by IU's Blueming which made reference to iMessage. The front cover of the book was decorated with dried flowers by our admins. IU also acknowledged our poetry book on her Instagram Story captioned 'KUAENA 💛' with cute gifs and a flying kiss!

  • Preserved Flowers

IU once mentioned that blue roses symbolise miracle and thus we hope that just like these preserved flowers, the precious friendship between IU and Ku-aenas could last forever like a miracle.

  • Scented Candle

"Wishing IU a 'good night', a way of expressing our love for her."

We hope IU's dark and sleepless nights can be lighted up by this candle and Ku-aenas' longing hearts for her can be conveyed through its scent. We also hope IU will be able to dream sweet dreams and sleep tight with this.

  • Orchid Perfume

Orchid symbolises love, happiness and a precious friendship and we want that for IU. Thankfully, she feels the same way too!

IU Instagram update captioned "I feel the same way 😊💛"

  • Congratulatory Flower Bouquet and Flowery Earrings

This welcome gift was placed in IU's concert backstage waiting room with the help of the organiser's staff. IU acknowledged our bouquet alongside other gifts on her Instagram too!
